About The Carp Fishery at GorstyThe lake has been established for along time and for many years it was called Balterley Mere. I have owned it for 38 years. I acquired it along with Gorsty Hall, which was run as a hotel and restaurant. The lake has always been used for day anglers (no membership).

Approximately 11 years ago, I dug a second lake which is now known as the Specimen
Pool.
The main lake has 52 pegs, a variety of course fish, mainly carp and crucians.
The carp go to around 22lbs in the main Pool.
The Specimen Lake has carp only, over 30Lbs
